A computer is an electronic device used to process data in the form of input to information as an output. A desktop computer is a personal computer designed for working in a particular area without movements because of its size and power.
On the other hand, a laptop computer is a personal computer designed in a special way that will allow you to move around with it because it can store power and is smaller than a desktop computer.
Portability
A laptop computer has all of its hardware components installed in it. This feature will allow the user to move around with it, unlike desktop computers, whose hardware components are separate but connected to the system unit by a cable.
Some hardware components are wireless, and they can be connected together. The size of the laptop will also matter. A laptop can be lighter than a system unit of a desktop due to its size.
Cost
If you wanted to buy an equivalent desktop computer with equivalent processing power, it would be a lot more expensive than the desktop would be. Because of the uniqueness from laptop to laptop, laptops are not easy to fix, which means repair costs will be a lot more expensive than desktop computers.
Storage
Laptop computers have only one internal drive installed in them. If more storage is needed, you need to completely replace the drive with a bigger one, unlike the desktop computers with many multiple internal drives.
Desktop computers also have more ports that will allow them to connect with multiple external drives. Laptop computers have fewer ports to connect with external drives compared to desktop computers.
Ease Of Assembly
A desktop computer is more cumbersome than a laptop. Since the peripheral devices of a laptop are connected inside it, it makes it easier to use. You should get the laptop from the bag, plug it in if it has no power, then press the power button, unlike the desktop computers that need extra work to hook everything up. Desktop computers will also need more space than laptop computers to set them up.

Power Usage
Less power is needed to make the smaller component work. This means laptop computers use less power than a desktop computer. Laptops also have a battery that will allow the user to use it anywhere, even if there is no power in the area.
Desktop computers have no battery that will allow you to use them with no source of power. But there are some desktop computers that will store power for some seconds or minutes to allow the user to save the unsaved work due to power fluctuations and outages.
